Larry M. Ludewig, Ph.D.

Although he was born in Houston, Texas, Larry M. Ludewig considers the entire State his home.  In addition to Houston, he has roots in Bishop, Beaumont, Bryan, Lubbock, New Braunfels, San Angelo, and, of course, Kilgore.  He is a third degree Aggie, holding Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees from Texas A&M University.
For the first eighteen years of his educational career, Dr. Ludewig served as an administrator in the student affairs area, securing positions at Texas A&M University, Southern Arkansas University, Angelo State University, Lamar University, and, finally, Texas Tech University, where he was the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students.  At most of these institutions, Ludewig held adjunct professor status on the graduate and/or undergraduate faculties.  He jokes that rather than buying a Corvette, a silk shirt, gold chain, and divorcing his wife; his response to his mid-life crisis was to make a career shift and return, full-time,  to the classroom where he was the happiest.  Consequently, Dr. Ludewig arrived at Kilgore College in 1989.  He will tell you it was one of his best life decisions.  Larry Ludewig is a member of numerous professional/honor organizations, among them:  Texas Community College Teachers Association, American Psychological Association, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Delta Kappa, Kappa Delta Pi, and Blue Key.  Dr. Ludewig is the author of a significant number of professional publications and has been nominated for Kilgore College's "Outstanding Teacher of the Year" award, Who's Who Among America's Teachers, among other honors.
Larry claims that the number of his hobbies far exceed his financial capabilities of supporting them.  Among other things, he enjoys playing the guitar, riding his motorcycle, fishing and crashing his computer (which he does all too often).
