The East Texas Police Academy is dedicated to serving the training needs of the hundreds of law enforcement agencies and the thousands of law enforcement officers in the greater East Texas area. ETPA has been serving those agencies and officers since the Academy's inception in 1966. ETPA, a division of Kilgore College, provides a wide range of training, from the Basic Peace Officer Course (640 hours) to advanced courses offered in a vast array of subjects. The East Texas Police Academy is licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education and approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Graduation for Police Academy No. 285 set for Dec. 6
The East Texas Police Academy will host graduation for Academy No. 285 at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in the Bert E. Woodruff Adult Education Center Auditorium. The speaker for the graduation will be Assistant Chief James Pierson with the Henderson Police Department.
