Vocational Nursing prepares the graduate to function as a member of the nursing team in performing basic nursing skills independently is non-complex situations and to assist the registered nurse or physician in complex nursing situations. This program is accredited by the State Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners. Graduates are eligible to take the state examination for licensure. The twelve-month program is taught in three semesters for a total of 47 credit hours. A class is offered beginning in August and one beginning in January. Pretesting for admissions occurs in March and September. A certificate of completion may be awarded upon successful completion of course requirements. Courses are taught only in Longview.
