KTPB
Dear friend of KTPB:
As of August 31, 2006, the live (managed) operations of KTPB have ended. For the next few weeks the station will continue to broadcast classical music 24 hours a day through a satellite feed of the Beethoven Satellite Network, but there will be no local programming or staff members.
Kilgore College is awaiting FCC approval of the sale of the station to EMF Broadcasting. The college will continue to broadcast a signal until the sale is approved, at which time EMF will take control of the FM 88.7 frequency and the broadcast tower. EMF is one of the nation’s leading providers of Christian-themed broadcasting.
We are pleased to announce that sports broadcasts of KC Ranger Football and Basketball will continue on KZQX FM. KZQX broadcasts on three FM frequencies: 104.7 (Chalk Hill), 105.3 (Kilgore) and 101.9 ( Longview). The KZQX signal is also simulcast on streaming Internet. You can listen by following this link: www.kzqx.com.
Games and the coaches’ shows will also be available in Kilgore on Kilgore Cable channel 29, the Kilgore College public access channel.
Kilgore College will continue to support the arts in East Texas through its numerous art, music and drama programs, including the world-famous Texas Shakespeare Festival.
The college will also continue to be a member of www.Arts East Texas.
On behalf of the staff of KTPB and the faculty, staff and administration of Kilgore College, we thank you for listening.
