6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Classic Film (title to be announced) to be shown in the Meeting Room
Tuesday, August 9
10:00 a.m. Joe White, Director of the East Texas Oil Museum, will speak about children growing up in the oil boom
Wednesday, August 10
2:00 p.m. Barbara Barton, Curator of the Gaston Museum, will speak about Life in an East Texas oil field.
Thursday, August 11
10:00 a.m. Panel discussion of the Great Depression in East Texas and the oil boom – life before and after the discovery of oil.
5:00 – 7:30 p.m. 1930s music and dance - Big band music in the Meeting Room turned ballroom
Friday, August 12
9:00 a.m. 1930s games in the Meeting Room. Monopoly was introduced in 1935. Listen to radio shows from the 1930s while you play Monopoly and other games.
2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Build a domino derrick then watch the dominoes fall to bring in a gusher!
