| Oct 2 Oil Field in 1930 reunion Church Services.
The Plan:
All Churches in the five counties of the Oil Patch are requested to have a service of the type that were held in 1930 on the Sunday just before Jubilee. It is expected that many of the churches will join in this celebration of the discovery of Oil in East Texas.
Examples are:
 * The First Presbyterian of Kilgore will celebrate Jubilee and also the 155 th birthday of the local church with a picnic at 5:30 PM at the Danville Cemetery. The evening will include an old fashioned covered dish picnic, gospel singing, & reflections on the families & stories of the church that played such a pivotal role in the East Texas Oil Field.
The Christian Church of Selman City will participate in the celebration.
Invitation:
All churches are invited to share their plan for this Oil Field in 1930 Celebration, and we will add it to this site.
