and Silver-- the 75th Anniversary of the East Texas Oil Field and
the 25th Anniversary of the East Texas Oil Museum, celebrates two
important milestones in Texas history--the discovery of the East
Texas Oil Field in 1930 and the opening of the East Texas Oil Museum
in 1980. More than two-dozen celebration events are planned throughout
the "Oil Patch" from early summer
through Oct. 3, 2005, which will be 75 years to the day that the
first of 32,000 oil wells--the Daisy Bradford #3 discovery well--came
