Kilgore College is a comprehensive public community college with a campus in Kilgore and an extension center in Longview, Texas. Kilgore College—Longview offers a wide variety of credit, non-credit, and avocational courses. We are an open-door, student centered institution characterized by excellence in teaching and learning. The Adult Education program is funded through state and federal grants and its main office is located at the Kilgore College—Longview facilities. |

| RESPONSIBILITIES |
|
The Educational Assistant reports to the Director of Adult Education. The duties include, but are not limited to, the following: providing individual tutoring; facilitating small group instruction under the direction of the teacher; proctoring and scoring tests; counseling students on attendance, resources and goal attainment strategies; assisting in maintenance of student portfolios and attendance records; compiling various reports under the direction of the teacher; and entering program data into the TEA adult education data base and managing hard copy of data files.
The schedule for this position will be Monday, Wednesday from 4:00p.m. to 8p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday from 4p.m. to 9p.m.

| MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |
|
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be able to use computer software applications including keyboarding, word processing, and spreadsheets. Additionally, applicants must organized and through, able to work with little supervision, and have the ability to deal professionally and courteously with a diverse student, staff, and faculty. |

| SALARY RANGE & FRINGE BENEFITS |
|
Salary for this part time position is $7.75 per hour. Workers compensation, membership to the college’s fitness center, and a limited retirement plan are provided. This position is grant-funded; continued employment is dependent upon acceptable performance and receipt of adequate grant monies. |

PART TIME TUTORS |

|
Kilgore College is a comprehensive public community college with a campus in Kilgore and an extension center in Longview, Texas. With approximately 5,000 students, Kilgore College is a student-centered institution characterized by excellence in teaching and learning. This part-time position (15 hrs per week) will tutor current Kilgore College students to include traditional, dual credit, and tech-prep students. |

| RESPONSIBILITIES |
|
The ideal candidate will assist students succeed in school in various disciplines, including Math, English, Chemistry, Spanish, Speech, Computer Science, etc: subject review and practice, managing study time, preparing for exams, taking notes, and other tutorial activities. Practice the ethical standards of helping, which includes maintaining confidentiality with each student. Make appropriate referrals to faculty or support staff when a student needs services that you are unable to provide. Perform other related duties as assigned. |

| MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |
|
Applicants must have at least 30 hours of college credit, a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average and knowledge in the subjects to be tutored. Possess the skills necessary to interact professionally and courteously with a diverse student, faculty and support population and the ability to work with little supervision.

|
Salary is based on experience and ranges from $ 7.00 to $ 10.00 per hour. |
