SUMMARY OF KILGORE COLLEGE FRINGE BENEFIT PROGRAM
The following is a synopsis of the benefits available to full-time Kilgore College employees. A complete description of all benefits is provided in the Kilgore Junior College District Policy Manual which is located on our web site.

  1. Dependent Child Scholarship
    Dependent children of employee's with a minimum of one year of service are eligible for a KC scholarship equivalent to the amount of in-district tuition and fees. Out-of-district fees, course specific fees, and books are not covered.
  2. Disability
    Long-term disability insurance is provided to each eligible employee. Coverage is 60 percent of an employee's salary, with a maximum payment of $3,000 per month after a 90-day waiting period.
  3. Event Admissions
    Each full-time employee will be provided general admission tickets to football and basketball games played at home. In addition, two tickets to the majority of fine arts events as well as two tickets to all of the East Texas Enrichment Series events will be provided.
  4. Health Club Membership
    All employees and their immediate family receive complimentary membership in the college's Park's Fitness Center.
  5. Health Insurance
    Major medical benefits through the Employee Retirement System of Texas are provided for each full-time employee. Currently, Kilgore College employees are covered by Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Texas' Health Select program.
  6. Life Insurance
    Term life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance are provided for each eligible full-time employee at a rate of three times the annual salary.
  7. Local Leave
    Each full-time employee shall be granted one day per scheduled work month for local leave. Leave days may accumulate to 90 days. Local leave may be utilized for personal illness, illness of close relatives or loved ones, and bereavement. Two days of leave time for nine-month employees and three days of leave time for twelve month employees may be used for personal business.
  8. Retirement
    All personnel, except faculty members in the optional retirement program, employed on a full-time basis shall be members of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.
  9. Tuition Grants
    Tuition Grants for enrollment in courses taught by the college are available to all full-time employees.
  10. Vacation & Holidays
    All full-time, twelve month employees shall be entitled to ten working days paid vacation for each full year of employment. Paid holidays include Labor Day, three days at Thanksgiving, two weeks for Christmas - New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, one week at Spring Break, Good Friday, Memorial Day, and Independence Day.
