Financial Aid

College is Possible!

You've been considering attending Kilgore College for months or even years. You know what you want, and you've got an idea what it will cost. What you don't know is where you're going to find the money. The financial aid professionals at Kilgore College will show you how paying for tuition (and maybe some other expenses) is possible without depleting your savings or emptying your wallet.

Please file your FAFSA and check Campus Connect to see what documents are needed.

Stay informed about your financial aid

All excess funds from grants, scholarships, loans and refunds will be placed on your Ranger card at various times throughout the semester. Dates vary with class schedules, flex classes, loan types and completion of financial aid paperwork. Check the semester class schedule for the first refund date of the semester. To keep up with your Financial Aid, log into Campus Connect. Please read the SAP Policy page so that you can be sure you are making Satisfactory Academic Progress. Check your SAP status on Campus Connect.

If you have questions that cannot be answered by checking our website or logging into Campus Connect, please e-mail or call the following people.

Financial Aid Literacy Counseling sessions required for all students who apply for federal grants/loans or state aid:

The Kilgore College Financial Aid Department offer free "Financial Aid Literacy Counseling" sessions online.

All students who plan on receiving federal grants, loans or state aid to pay for classes at KC are required to
complete these sessions online.

To complete Financial Aid Literacy online, follow these instructions carefully so you will receive credit for it.

        • Scroll down until you see Student Success
        • Click on Student Success
        • Read the statement to the right about how to get credit  for completing it online
        • Click on the title of the course – Financial Aid Literacy Counseling-Fin101-Kelley
        • On the right side of the screen, under Is This Your First Time Here
        • Read the instructions explaining how to login to elearning
        • Type you Username and Password in the left side of the screen
        • Follow the instructions to hear the audio and read the information (it is in two parts)

        • You will have three chances to pass the quiz

If you do not pass the quiz in 3 attempts, you need to attend a Financial Aid Literacy Counseling Session in person.

ALSO, as of Spring 2011 all financial aid students will be required to complete a LOAN REQUEST FORM for any of the following:

  • Any student requesting a Federal Student Loan  (which MUST be repaid)– if you have already been awarded and accepted your Financial Aid for FALL and Spring this WILL NOT be necessary.
  • Loan Changes
  • Loan Cancellations
  • Loan Reinstatements

Students will only be allowed to make one change to their Loans during a semester, so they will need to be certain of the amount they request and decline.
