Welcome to Admissions!
Transfer students/Former Students
Transfer students/Former Students
Students with transferable college semester hours from another accredited
college or university must meet the following requirements:
1. Submit an Application for Admission to the Admissions Office
at least two weeks prior to registering for classes.
2. Verify THEA status.
3. Submit an official transcript from each college or university attended.
A transcript is considered official only when it bears the signature
of the registrar and the seal of the issuing institution. Once a student
submits a transcript, the transcript becomes the property of KC and
cannot be returned. If the student does not enroll, the transcript will
be kept on file for one year. A student who is on scholastic probation
from another institution is admitted subject to the same conditions
as KC students on scholastic probation. A student who is on scholastic
suspension from another institution is admitted only at the discretion
of college officials.
Former Students:
Former enrolled students are students who have not enrolled in KC
for one year and who wish to return. Whether these students were forced
to leave (academic or disciplinary suspension) or chose to leave, they
must meet the following requirements:
1. Submit a returning Student Status Update form at least two weeks prior to registering
for classes. This form is available in the current bulletin containing
the schedule of classes and registration information. This bulletin
is available in the Registrars Office at the Kilgore main campus
or at the Longview Center. Click here to down load the returning student form:
2. Submit an official transcript from every college or university attended
since the last enrollment at KC. A transcript is considered official
only when it bears the signature of the registrar and the seal of the
issuing institution, and is sent to KC directly from the issuing institution.
Individual Approval
A student who is not a graduate of an accredited high school may be admitted conditionally at the discretion of the Dean of Admissions and Registrar. Students able to benefit from Title IV funds and who do not have a high school diploma must have passed the Test of General Education Development Test (GED) approved by the U.S. Department of Education and the college. The Testing Center on the Kilgore main campus and the Hendrix Longview Center are both authorized testing centers for administering the GED.
