Admissions Checklist

Applying to Kilgore College is easy and free. You can apply online and there is no application fee. Applications are accepted year round and students who meet the minimum qualifications are guaranteed admittance into our general studies programs.
(Note: Some KC programs, such as those in the Allied Health fields, have limited enrollment and you will need to apply separately for those programs.)

2. Complete the THEA test (or equivalent)
- For those who are not exempted form this requirement, KC recommends students take the ACCUPLACER test or the THEA (Texas Higher Education Assessment). To find out if you may qualify for an exemption please visit the testing Web site.

3. Request your transcripts
- We will need your high school transcript or GED scores mailed directly from the high school or testing agency. Request your transcripts through your high school counselor. If you have taken college-level courses they will need to be sent directly to the college.

4. Apply for financial aid

If you need financial aid, you will need to first submit your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Federal Aid is based on your need and can be applied for through out the year. Kilgore College also offers a wide array of scholarships. Deadline for scholarships is Feb. 1 for the Presidential Scholarship and April 1 for all other scholarships.

5. Attend a New Student Orientation
- Orientation is required for all first-time college students and recommended for anyone who is new to Kilgore College. Sessions are scheduled at convenient times throughout the year.
