Earn your GED

A GED is accepted by all public and most private colleges and universities, as well as most employers. Getting your GED diploma involves taking a series of tests designed to measure the skills equal to those represented by a high school diploma. The tests measure writing, social studies, science, reading, and mathematics skills.

The Benefits of a GED

• Get a Better Job. Many jobs require a high school diploma or GED.

• Go to college

• Feel Better About Yourself.

• Increase Your Income.

• Invest in the Future.

To earn a General Education Development diploma, you must pass a standardized test to prove your proficiency at the high school level in the five major subject areas, which include (1) social studies, (2) science, (3) math, (4) language arts reading, and (5) language arts writing, which includes the writing of an essay of 250 words or more. All public and most private colleges and universities as well as most employees accept a GED.

Instruction and Curriculum
The curriculum ranges from basic literacy level to twelfth-grade level instructions in reading, writing, social studies, science, and math. Instruction is a combination of traditional lecture, individualized lab assignments based on assessment results consisting of workbooks and computer drills all aimed at passing the GED tests.
