Woodfin Center
The opening of the Woodfin Center for Instructional Technology. Stephen and Mary Paige Woodfin made the center possible through the gift of honoring Helen Woodfin, a member of the first Rangerette line.


Storm Damage
A major storm rips through Kilgore on Sept. 27, 2007, uprooting trees in front of Old Main. KC student photographers won multiple awards for their coverage of the disaster.
Astroplay field turf is installed at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium. KC paid $282,000 in a joint venture with the Kilgore Independent School District.2000s: Major renovations completed on Old Main, Turk Fine Arts Center, Masters Gymnasium, Student Support Building, Technical-Vocational Building, McLaurin Administration Building and Communications-Automotive Building. The Cosmetology Building, KC-Longview North Building and the Industrial Shop Building open on the Longview campus.


KC breaks record enrollment in Spring 2009 with 5,538 students. The record was broken again in Fall 2009 with 6,375 students enrolled. In 2010, enrollment topped 6,600, including over 1,000 dual-credit students.
